South Holland's roof landscape is surprisingly varied. Along the coast (Scheveningen, Hook of Holland, Monster) salt wind and heavy storms dominate — there we use salt-resistant zinc and reinforced lead flashings. In the heritage city centres of Delft, Leiden and The Hague we work with historic tiles and careful lead work. In post-war areas (Zoetermeer, Vlaardingen, Rijswijk) BENG-compliant insulation is standard during roof renewal. On commercial sites in Westland and Naaldwijk we deliver large-area bitumen and EPDM for agricultural and logistics buildings.

Our choice of materials follows the roof type, not the purchase price. For tiled roofs in heritage city centres we select ceramic tiles that match the existing colour and profile, often Koramic, Monier or Wienerberger. On flat roofs we combine APP bitumen (sun-resistant, for unshaded roofs) or SBS bitumen (frost-resistant, for shaded sides) with manufacturer warranty up to fifteen years from Iko or Esha. For smaller flat surfaces — dormers, garden rooms, garages . We use seamless EPDM rubber with thirty-year service life. As a Zinkunie-certified installer we supply zinc in heavy-gauge premium quality (NedZink or VMZINC), never thin-walled — coastal wind would not let that survive.

BENG insulation and ISDE subsidy now feature in every roof renewal conversation in South Holland. Since 2021 a renewed roof must meet BENG (Bijna Energie Neutraal Gebouw — Near-Energy-Neutral Building); in practice we install 120 mm PIR insulation as standard during a flat-roof renovation. The Sustainable Energy Investment Subsidy from the Dutch RVO refunds €30-40 per square metre of insulation — on a typical terraced house with 70 m² of flat roof that adds up to €2,100 back. Our quote specifies the insulation material used — useful as supporting documentation for your own ISDE application with RVO.

For residents' associations (VvE) and commercial clients we work project-based with written reporting and MJOP input. An independent roof inspection produces photos per roof section, urgency rating and cost estimate for the next ten to fifteen years — directly usable as a Long-Term Maintenance Plan building block. We work VCA-certified, carry business liability insurance, and hold Zinkunie certification for zinc work on housing complexes and commercial buildings. For large surfaces (>200 m²) we provide large-area pricing and structured resident communication including scheduling per block or stairwell.

Our process always starts with an on-site visit. A DG roofer climbs the roof, photographs every section and records findings in writing. Within 24 hours you receive an itemised quote at a fixed price, no after-the-fact 'adjustments', no extras unless agreed upfront. Once you sign off, we schedule at the earliest available date. We work exclusively with our own roofers (no subcontractors), coordinate ourselves with residents' associations or contractors, and hand over a photo report and guarantee certificate on completion. 10-year guarantee on completed work is stated on the final invoice as proof. Repair work is not covered.

Price transparency is something we take seriously. As a guide: roof repairs (loose tiles, small leaks, new lead flashings) typically cost €150–600 depending on scope. A complete tiled roof replacement on a terraced house (50–70 m²) runs €8,500–13,000 including insulation and lead work. Bitumen flat roof up to 80 m²: €3,800–6,500. Zinc work per linear metre of valley gutter: €120–200. These are indicative prices, your quote depends on roof type, height, condition of the underlay and material choice. You always receive a fixed, binding price in writing before we start.

In case of storm damage we work directly with your insurer. After a storm of force 7 or above most contents insurers cover emergency repairs; damage to the roof structure falls under buildings insurance. We provide an itemised damage report on request — the documentation your insurer needs. Our advice: call us first. An expert eye assesses what's actually wrong and how urgent it is before you contact your insurer. That avoids underestimating the damage and unnecessary disputes about the cause.
