For an urgent roof leak, call DG Dakwerken on 06 18 53 02 78 during business hours (Mon–Fri 8:00–17:00); outside hours we respond via WhatsApp within 3 hours. No hold music, no call centre — a roofer answers or responds and confirms the estimated arrival time. No call-out fee, including weekends.
An emergency roofer is not a regular roofer who happens to arrive quickly. The job demands someone who can immediately gauge the severity of the situation, carry the right materials for temporary weatherproofing, and understand that every minute water penetrates means more damage to insulation, plasterwork and timber. At DG Dakwerken, "emergency" means on site within 30–70 minutes — depending on your municipality in South Holland — with PE sheeting, EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer, a synthetic rubber membrane) patches and tools for same-day temporary weatherproofing.
The most common causes of acute roof leaks we encounter: storm-displaced tiles or lifted bitumen-membrane edges; blocked gutters or downpipes causing water to back up; failed sealant (kit) around a chimney, roof light or pipe penetration; and EPDM or bitumen membranes that split at a stress point. We diagnose the cause on the same day — even if weather conditions prevent detailed inspection, we always fit temporary weatherproofing first and return for the permanent fix when conditions allow.
DG Dakwerken is VCA-certified (Veiligheid, Gezondheid en Milieu Checklist Aannemers — the Dutch safety, health and environment certification for contractors), which means all emergency work is carried out safely, with proper fall protection and procedures. We cover 22 municipalities across South Holland: from The Hague, Rijswijk and Delft to Leiden, Zoetermeer and Rotterdam. Once the emergency is resolved, you receive a written fixed-price quote for permanent repair within 24 hours — transparent, no hidden costs.
Five steps that limit damage until the roofer arrives.
Bucket under the leak. Electronics and valuables out of the wet zone. Switch off electricity near affected sockets — a safety hazard, not a minor nuisance.
Photo damp patches and staining inside. Only go outside if it is genuinely safe — never onto a wet or frost-covered roof. Photos serve as insurance evidence and help us quote before we arrive.
Call 06 18 53 02 78 during business hours (Mon–Fri 8:00–17:00) or send WhatsApp — outside hours we respond via WhatsApp within 3 hours. Give us: address, roof type (flat or pitched), what you can see (drip, stream, wet ceiling) and when it started.
We assess the roof and fit PE sheeting or an EPDM patch. Loose tiles, open mortar joints or failed sealant are fixed on the spot where possible. Your home is dry again.
Within 24 hours you receive a written fixed-price quote. Permanent repair is typically completed within 2–5 working days, subject to scope and weather.

Honest answers — no marketing speak.
Response time depends on your distance from our base in The Hague. For nearby areas — Rijswijk, Voorburg, Leidschendam, Wassenaar — we typically arrive within 30–45 minutes. For more distant municipalities such as Leiden, Zoetermeer or Rotterdam, expect 50–70 minutes. We confirm the estimated arrival time as soon as we take your call.
No. DG Dakwerken charges no call-out fee — including for emergency calls outside office hours, at weekends or on public holidays. You pay only for the work carried out and materials used. We always send a written quote before starting any permanent repairs.
We first assess the risk of further water damage. We then fit temporary weatherproofing — PE sheeting or an EPDM patch — to keep rain out. We investigate the cause of the leak; small repairs (a shifted tile, an open mortar joint, a failed sealant bead) are fixed on the spot. For larger damage we present a written fixed-price quote for permanent repair within 24 hours.
Most buildings insurance policies cover storm damage and sudden water ingress — provided you report the damage promptly and have it repaired professionally. On request we prepare a detailed damage report for your insurer. Act quickly: if water continues to penetrate, insurers may argue you failed to take reasonable steps to limit the damage.
It depends where and how fast water is getting in. A drip via a displaced tile on a dry day is less urgent than water tracking down an internal wall from a gap at the chimney. If you are unsure, call us anyway — we assess urgency together and can visit the same day if needed. One call is always better than unnecessary damage to your ceiling, insulation or joists.
We call you back within 24 hours with a written quote. Quincy or Marvin works on your roof in person.
